A father's hands are rough from labour, but his heart is breaking. You can ease their burden.
Khyati is just 2 years old, but her life has already been turned upside down by the cruel hands of cancer. This innocent little girl, once full of joy and energy, is now fighting a rare and aggressive form of cancer — Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney (CCSK).
It all began with what seemed like a simple fever. Her parents, Surendra and Rani, never imagined it would lead to something so devastating. But after a series of tests, their world came crashing down. Their little girl had cancer — and it wasn’t just any cancer. It was a rare type that only affects a small number of children every year. Their hearts broke as they tried to understand what this meant for their baby girl.
With no choice but to fight, Surendra and Rani made the life-changing decision to take their daughter to AIIMS Delhi, one of the best hospitals in the country. The treatment there is free — doctor consultations and hospital bed charges have been waived. But the one thing they cannot afford is the chemotherapy medicines, which cost over Rs. 20,000 a month.
Surendra is a simple, hardworking man. He is a farmer by profession, living in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. When the doctors gave them the heartbreaking diagnosis, Surendra sold everything he had — his land, his possessions — and borrowed money from relatives to bring Khyati to Delhi. But in the bustling city, his earnings as a daily wage labourer, which amount to barely Rs. 800 a day, are nowhere near enough to cover the costs of his daughter’s treatment.
Every day, Surendra wakes up, unsure of how he will be able to feed his family, let alone provide the medicines Khyati desperately needs. His only goal is simple: save his daughter’s life. But each day, he finds himself forced to make impossible choices. Do I buy her medicines, or do I buy food for my family?
“I can work and suffer, but I can’t bear to see my daughter suffer like this,” says Surendra, his voice breaking. “I will do whatever it takes to save her. But I can’t do it alone.”
They now live in a small rented room near the hospital. It’s a far cry from the warmth and comfort they once had back home. The family barely has enough food to get through the day. Surendra does everything he can to stretch his meager income, but with such a low daily wage, there’s often not enough to go around.
“Her treatment is free, but her medicines cost more than I earn in days. We sometimes skip meals so she doesn’t miss a dose,” Surendra says, his eyes filled with helplessness"- added Surendra.
What they need now is simple: chemotherapy medicines and basic dry ration. Khyati’s survival depends on getting the right treatment, but Surendra and Rani cannot do it alone.
Khyati is fighting with all her strength. She has the will to live, but she needs your help to survive. Here’s what your support can do:
Donate for Khyati’s chemotherapy medicines. The medicines cost more than Surendra can afford each month, and without them, there’s little chance of survival.
Support with basic dry ration — rice, dal, flour, oil. These essentials will help the family get through each day as they fight to save Khyati’s life.
Even a small donation can make a huge difference. Rs. 500 can help cover part of her medicines. Rs. 1000 can provide the family with food for a week. Rs. 5000 can cover a month's worth of chemotherapy medicines.
The road ahead is long and uncertain, but Khyati’s fight is not over yet. She is a fighter. But she needs your support to keep going.
Surendra and Rani are doing everything they can, but they cannot do this alone. They need your help. Your donation can be the lifeline Khyati needs. Your compassion can bring her one step closer to recovery.
Please donate today — every rupee counts. Share Khyati’s story with your family, friends, and on social media. The more people who know about her fight, the more people can come together to help her live the life she deserves
